It has been quite an amazing year in getting 2x4 International off the ground. As we write, 2x4 International is hosting an art show at Borjon Winery in Amador, California. The show will come down Monday. All our good deeds have come together with the orchestration of all of you: what your life journeys bring and your dear heartsong to do more and be more. It takes a village and when we look around at our village, we are amazed and delighted.

Sent Off: A HEARTFELT THANK YOU to all the folks at the California Department of Education, our Board Members, the families who helped pack & our partner SCEP for helping to raise over $2,000 worth of donations! On May 21, 2011, clothes, books, shoes & toys were packed & sent to the Children's Hospital and the SCEP Educational Project in Sampa Buni, Ghana (West Africa)!

Gearing Up to build an orphanage in Mexico:

Donated: An acre of land in Tuxpan Jalisco, Mexico by Mr. Miguel de la Mora Morfin from Texas (USA) to build an orphanage outside of Tuxpan, Jalisco Mexico next to a high school.
Donated: Our dear friends at 5468796 Architecture will design the orphanage.

2x4 Advisors Celebrated: Bertha Isaura Torres Osorio will head the project. Isaura has created/implemented strategies to alleviate health issues and to combat disease in rural areas through the municipality of Tuxpan, Jalisco. Victor Campos, a government contractor who works with Isaura and connected the heart of Mr. Mora Morfin with our efforts, will assist in the building of the orphanage.

Three cheers for Mr. Miguel de la Mora Morfin who has donated an acre of land to build an orphanage outside of Tuxpan, Jalisco next to a high school.

We also celebrate Bertha Isaura Torres Osorio (our Advisor) who worked diligently to make this project a reality and will oversee the creation and development of the project and Victor Campos, a government contractor, who will help in building the orphanage.

1) Our New Board Director: Mr. Etukudo who has worked for the UN for almost 20 years supporting over 46 African member states is part of the team;

2) We are building an orphanage. An acre of land has been donated to support our Orphanage Project in Tuxpan Jalisco, Mexico (OPTJM);

3) We are supporting education efforts in our Guiding Light Project in Kingston, Jamaica (GLPKJ);

2x4 International is pleased to announce that we are official! We obtained our federal 501(c)(3) status in January 2011 and have been operating as an official California state entity since April 2010. Our Board of Directors will be voting on the two projects in Tuxpan, Mexico & Kingston, Jamaica that 2x4 International will support in 2011. Details will be revealed soon along with the announcement of our kick-off 2Build 4Ward International Art & Wine Silent Auction & Exhibit at a local Sacramento photography studio this fall. Ringing in 2011!

We hope your holidays were full of all the warmth the season brings. Please join us in ringing in 2011, our first New Year, with the promise of new projects and the development of non-governmental organizations in Mexico and Jamaica. We are currently in the process of scheduling our first global 2 x 4 International Annual Board Meeting for February 2011. Our goals for the first year are simple: 1) to select and approve 1 project in Mexico and 1 project in Jamaica and, 2) begin to build non-governmental agencies that will oversee the funds that we send for our projects. Our Chief Financial Officer, Fernando, was able to travel to Mexico over the holidays. We are well on our way to unveiling our first project in Mexico that seems to be much grander than our hearts could imagine for our first project! Stay tuned. I had to postpone my trip to Jamaica but have no doubt that our Jamaica team is busy securing a project. With that we look forward to 2011. The creation of 2 x 4 International has been 20 years in the making while waiting for the right hearts and minds to join forces to share what they know and participate in giving back on a global front.

The kindred spirits that form 2 x 4 International embrace community development efforts for orphans/orphanages, education/health projects, local small business development projects and infrastructure improvement. The projects and services 2 x 4 International supports are identified by communities, nongovernmental and government officials, educators, health care officials, volunteer organizations and individuals in disadvantaged areas across the world.

Kudos to you, if you chose to join us on this venture to do more and be more in the world. We welcome you to the 2 x 4 International team. The development and implementation of 2 x 4 International supported projects and services are a continual work in progress. Your input and involvement are always welcome which means we hope to hear from you!
